Canadian Classic Rock
The Kings are a Canadian rock band originally formed between Vancouver, British Columbia and Oakville, Ontario. The classic lineup features David Diamond, Sonny Keyes, Max Styles, now Todd Reynolds, and Mister Zero.
Before their breakthrough, the band spent more than three years performing under the name WhistleKing, logging endless hours of rehearsals, club gigs, and writing sessions with one goal in mind: to make a great record. That focus eventually brought them to Nimbus 9 Studio in Toronto, where legendary producer Bob Ezrin joined the story.
Ezrin’s involvement led to a worldwide major label deal with Elektra Records and the release of their debut album, The Kings Are Here. The record featured the smash hit “This Beat Goes On/Switchin’ To Glide,” which received heavy airplay across Canada and the United States and helped launch years of touring.
The Kings continued to build their catalog with multiple studio albums, live releases, an anthology, a concert DVD, and a documentary. In 2024, the band returned with The Longest Story Ever Told, reaffirming their place as a rock band with real songwriting depth.
With a history of hits, more than 2,000 live shows, and a devoted fan base, The Kings remain a hungry band with something to prove and plenty of music still to play.
